Arby’s to menu venison sandwich nationwide

For its latest LTO, Arby’s is reaching into its menu playbook from last year, bringing back its short-lived venison sandwich—but this time, on a larger scale.

The chain’s venison sandwich was first offered last fall in just 17 markets, all where deer hunting is popular. Though it was originally slated to be a three-day LTO, every store sold out of the item in hours if not minutes.

This time around, the item will be sold at Arby’s units across the country. It will be available beginning Oct. 21.

The positive response to our limited offering of venison last year was so widespread and passionate that we knew we had to find a way to offer it nationwide,” Jim Taylor, Arby’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement.

The sandwich contains a venison steak, crispy onions and a juniper berry sauce.

In addition, Arby’s is adding a limited-time elk sandwich to the menu at just three units in Colorado, Montana and Wyoming. It’s the chain’s second hyperlimited LTO in recent memory, as it offered a turkey leg for one day only to commemorate the season finale of “Game of Thrones” in August.
