CrunchTime! Information Systems, a supplier of a widely used back-office management system, said it has acquired Zenput, a specialist in food-safety and labor-productivity monitoring software.
The purchase price and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
CrunchTime! described Zenput’s wares as highly complementary to its product line, and noted that such chains as P.F. Chang’s, Five Guys, Sweetgreen and The Cheesecake Factory are already customers of both vendors.
Together, the two support 500 brands encompassing 100,000 branches in 100 countries, according to the announcement.
"It's impossible to overstate how much the pandemic has impacted the consumer experience, as well as a restaurant's ability to serve its guests, Bill Bellissimo, CEO and founder of CrunchTime!, said in a statement. “With a persistent labor shortage, supply-chain challenges, and shifting expectations from consumers, it's critical that restaurants have the right technology in place to mitigate these issues."
The restaurant technology sector has been a hotbed of merger and acquisitions activity as vendors strive to provide more of a one-stop shop to operators.
