Starbucks is cutting more drinks from its menu

The coffee shop chain is removing 13 drinks from its offerings on Tuesday and plans more cuts as it culls 30% of its menu by this fall.

Customers who drink Starbucks’ Java Chip Frappuccino or Honey Almondmilk Flat White will have to reconsider their beverage choices soon.

The Seattle-based coffee shop giant is culling 13 items from its menu on Tuesday, the latest salvo in a simplification effort expected to result in a 30% reduction in its offerings by this fall.

The list of items includes several Frappuccino offerings, such as Java Chip, White Chocolate, Chai Crème and Caramel Ribbon.

“By simplifying our menu, we’re helping to create a more intentional, thoughtful experience for our customers, one where every drink is handcrafted with precision and care,” the company said this week in announcing the cuts.

Starbucks has already cut some items from its menu, including the olive oil-infused coffee line Oleato and its line of energy drinks. And these aren’t the last items expected to be culled.

For Starbucks, the hope is that simplifying the menu will ease the burdens on in-store staff, potentially speeding service and enabling the chain to operate with fewer items. The coffee chain had grown complicated over the years as it added new beverages and beverage platforms and customers used those new ingredients to create their own options, which stressed workers and slowed service.

But cutting the menu also gives Starbucks some space for more items. Indeed, the company recently introduced the Cortado and it plans to bring back Lavender beverages this spring along with a new Iced Cherry Chai and Jalapeno Chicken Pocket.

The move comes amid a broad array of changes at the coffee shop chain, including organizational changes, corporate layoffs, a new marketing campaign and a code of conduct inside stores.

Here’s a list of the items Starbucks is removing from the menu:

  • Iced Matcha Lemonade
  • Espresso Frappuccino, Caffe Vanilla Frappuccino, Java Chip Frappuccino, White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino, Chai Crème Frappuccino, Caramel Ribbon Crunch Crème Frappuccino, Double Chocolaty Chip Crème Frappuccino, Chocolate Cookie Crumble Crème Frappuccino and White Chocolate Frappuccino
  • White Hot Chocolate
  • Royal English Breakfast Latte
  • Honey Almondmilk Flat White
