The parent company of Tony Roma’s has a new interim CEO.
Mohaimina “Mina” Haque, the company’s current outside general counsel, has been named interim CEO of Romacorp Inc., which is parent to the ribs brand, as well as franchise concepts Tony Roma’s Legendary Grill and the recently launched fast-casual variation Tony Roma’s Bones & Burgers.
She replaces former CEO Ramon Bourgeois, who was named COO and acting CEO when Equity Investors of New England acquired the concept in 2021. Company officials said Bourgeois departed from the company but did not say when or why.
Haque is the founder of The Law Office of Mohaimina Haque PLLC, and she has been advising Romacorp for the last two years. As the company’s first female CEO, the company said she will focus on strategies to attract a broader range of customers and encourage the invigoration of the company’s Environmental, Social and Corporate governance, or ESG initiatives.
Tony Roma’s franchises almost 100 units around the world, including about eight in the U.S.
