Kona Grill faces threat of stock market delisting

The embattled Asian-fusion chain needs to bring up its market value to keep its place on Nasdaq.

Jundt, a Kona Grill founder, and Schussler, who founded Rainforest Cafe, take over the top post from Jim Kuhn.

Kuhn succeeds Berke Bakay, who held the top post for six years.

None of Kona Grill's restaurants are located in a state that requires menu labeling, but that hasn't stopped the company from getting ready to comply with upcoming federal regulations. Those regulations haven't been finalized yet, but it could happen before the end of the year.

The top and fastest-growing chains don’t always align with average total menu items in their sectors.

Overall, the varied menu category is flat, up .3% in sales to $23.9 billion and .5% in units to 7,792.

Jim Kuhn will join the team after serving as CEO of Chalak Mitra Group.

The chain's late-afternoon menu features several items for $6 or less.
