Parent company MTY Global said Friday that the chain’s momentum slowed recently amid unprecedented heat.

The take-and-bake pizza chain’s new design shrinks the customer area and moves the assembly line to the back. It is using incentives to get franchisees to remodel their stores quickly.

The pizza chain is giving out hiring, referral and “appreciation” bonuses to new and existing frontline workers at company locations and in the supply chain.

Papa Rewards has 20 million members. The program has helped the chain generate strong sales through the pandemic.
