The chain is joining Uber Eats and expanding chicken sandwiches nationwide after same-store sales fell 3.3%.

The former Wingstop chief executive called the salad restaurant chain “the QSR industry’s best-kept secret” and nominated himself for the position.

The company is opening a location this month in Toronto, one of 100 planned for the country as the chicken wing chain pushes international growth more aggressively.

The chain’s 11 sauces are a differentiator in the wing space and social media fans like to mix them up.

The wing chain, turning a viral tweet into reality, created custom sneakers with its green-and-white colors and winged logo. It’s giving them away on social media.

The wing chain said Tuesday that it is actively exploring acquiring or building its own “poultry complex” in the next two to three years, to mitigate pricing volatility in its core commodity.

The wing chain, whose stock price has fallen more than 50% this year, is testing “sauced-and-tossed” chicken sandwiches in 11 flavors at 60 restaurants.

The wing chain said it opened its dining rooms at the end of March, after shuttering them at the outset of the pandemic.
