Why In-N-Out is moving out of California

Lynsi Snyder, granddaughter of the burger chain’s founders, said that it’s “not easy” to do business or raise a family in California. But that doesn’t mean the chain will be expanding heavily out east.

It isn't scheduled to open until 2026. But the unit will be in the massive upcoming retail center The BLVD.

After 18 years in the Bay Area city, the quick-service chain that rarely closes stores said the unit there is scheduled to shutter in March out of concern for the safety of workers and guests.

The burger chain told workers outside of California and Oregon that they are not allowed to wear masks on the job.
