This California breakfast spot is part of a growing crop of irreverent a.m. concepts that offer fun twists on traditional dishes, plus booze. Breakfast Republic, in particular, leans into the beverage side of the menu, with kombucha and antioxidant shots joining the requisite Bloody Marys, mimosas and beer. Customers apparently can't get enough: The chain's sales rose more than 50% last year, and it opened two new locations. Breakfast Republic is one of five concepts owned by Rise & Shine Hospitality Group.
