Guthrie's opened its first restaurant in Auburn, Ala., in 1982 and considers itself to be "pioneers of the fried chicken finger only restaurants." The concept is known for its simple menu and signature sauce. Guthrie's has locations throughout the South as well as a unit in Cleveland, Ohio, and last year grew sales by 25%.
